Marc Stad Takes Control of Timberwolves and Lynx in $4.5B Deal

Marc Stad moved from minority investor to controlling owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx, buying the majority stake held by co-chairman Marc Lore. The deal values both franchises at a combined $4.5 billion — the fourth-largest franchise sale in NBA history. Stad joins Alex Rodriguez as co-chairman. Lore and Rodriguez bought in at a $1.5 billion valuation in 2021.
