HBO Max Orders DC Mockumentary "The People v. Gorilla Grodd" Straight to Series

HBO Max has given an eight-episode straight-to-series order — no pilot shot first — to "The People v. Gorilla Grodd," a half-hour mockumentary from DC Studios and Warner Bros. Television. Skyler Gisondo reprises his Jimmy Olsen role as host of a true-crime docuseries. Jimmy Tatro plays Grodd. "American Vandal" creators Tony Yacenda and Dan Perrault write, showrun and direct; James Gunn and Peter Safran executive produce. Variety reported the order on 21 August 2026.
