Apple TV+ series 'Widow's Bay' took 18 years from first draft to screen

Katie Dippold began writing 'Widow's Bay' in 2009 while on staff at 'Parks & Recreation.' Eighteen years later, Apple TV+ ordered it straight to series — no pilot — for 10 episodes with Hiro Murai. The show now has 19 Emmy nominations, a renewed second season and a multi-year overall deal keeping Dippold at the streamer.
