Sony Opens 'Insidious: Out of the Further' — Sixth Film, First Soft Reboot

Sony Pictures opens 'Insidious: Out of the Further' in theatres on 21 August 2026, the sixth entry in the horror franchise and the first positioned as a soft reboot. Writer-director Jacob Chase, whose previous feature was 'Come Play' (2020), told Variety he approached it as "an original film with 'Insidious' in the title." New lead Amelia Eve plays Gemma; Lin Shaye returns as Elise Rainier.
