Russell takes Dutch GP sprint pole as Zandvoort hosts first sprint

George Russell put Mercedes on sprint pole at the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix, beating McLaren's Lando Norris by 0.213s and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc by 0.289s. It is Russell's first sprint pole in four races. Zandvoort is running its first-ever sprint event this weekend. The sprint race covers roughly a third of grand prix distance on Saturday.
