Sandra Bullock joined Instagram to stop scammers defrauding fans in her name

Sandra Bullock told the SmartLess podcast she joined Instagram in April — she has since drawn 6 million followers — only because fraudsters were using her name and likeness to steal money from fans. Her sister received messages saying, "Your sister took thousands of dollars from me." Bullock has been aiding law enforcement on the matter. (Variety, 21 August 2026)
