Rory McIlroy shot 6-under-par 64 at Bellerive Country Club, St Louis, to join a five-way tie for the first-round lead at the BMW Championship. He hit only seven fairways — most pros expect ten-plus — but birdied four of his final six holes, reaching the par-5 17th in two. A sharp rebound from his 66th-place finish at last week's St Jude Championship.
