Sinner withdraws from 2026 US Open with knee injury
World number one Jannik Sinner has pulled out of the 2026 US Open, which begins 23 August in New York, with a right knee injury. The 25-year-old Italian has not played competitively since winning Wimbledon in July. "My team and I have made the difficult decision that I will not compete at the US Open," Sinner said. He withdrew from Cincinnati on 9 August. His exit opens the men's draw for every other contender.
