LIV Golf cancels team championship and cuts season short as loans fund operations

LIV Golf cancelled its Michigan team championship, scheduled for August 27-30, ending the 2026 season a week early, Reuters reported on August 17. A separate Reuters report in June said the Saudi-backed league is relying on loans to fund the remainder of the season. The Indianapolis finale now doubles as the circuit's last event in its current form.
