Jacob Elordi replaced Paul Mescal as the lead in Ridley Scott's "The Dog Stars" after Mescal dropped out over scheduling conflicts with the Beatles biopics, Variety reported. The post-apocalyptic sci-fi film, from Disney's 20th Century Studios and based on Peter Heller's 2012 novel, opens in US theatres on August 28, 2026.
