Jenny Simpson will not run again after cardiac arrest and ARVC diagnosis
Former 1500m world champion Jenny Simpson, 39, says she will never run again after suffering a cardiac arrest in June and being diagnosed with arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC), a rare genetic heart condition. Simpson collapsed while pacing a mile event in North Carolina, required CPR and a defibrillator, and arrested again in hospital. "A chapter has ended," she wrote.
