Netflix VP of Comedy Andy Weil Joins Amazon MGM Studios

Netflix VP of Comedy Andy Weil, the streamer's second-longest-serving programming executive, is leaving after 11 years to become head of comedy at Amazon MGM Studios, starting 14 September 2026. Peter Friedlander, Amazon's head of global TV and Weil's former Netflix boss, announced the hire in a staff memo. Weil championed titles including Bojack Horseman, Nobody Wants This and Tires.
