Jordan Cox marked his England Test debut with 73 at Headingley, batting at No 3 in place of the absent Jacob Bethell. One of four England half-centurions — Brook 91, Root 66, Lawrence 51 — Cox fell edging spinner Ali Usman behind. England closed day two on 366 for 8, a first-innings lead of 195 after Tongue (5/46) and Robinson (5/51) had bowled Pakistan out for 171.
