Parrott joins Real Betis on five-year deal from AZ Alkmaar

Republic of Ireland striker Troy Parrott has signed a five-year contract with Real Betis after AZ Alkmaar accepted a fee of around €20 million (£17.1m). The 24-year-old, formerly of Tottenham, scored 16 goals in 28 league games last season despite a knee injury. Betis, who finished fifth in La Liga, are preparing for their Champions League campaign. West Ham had been heavily linked.
