Netflix Acquires Jessica Simpson Documentary Feature Directed by Joe Pearlman

Netflix has acquired a documentary feature about Jessica Simpson, directed by BAFTA, Emmy and Grammy-nominated Joe Pearlman, according to Variety. Simpson has sold over 20 million records, fronted MTV's "Newlyweds" (2003–2005), built a billion-dollar fashion brand, and authored the 2020 bestselling memoir "Open Book." Van Toffler, who oversaw "Newlyweds" at MTV Networks, produces through Gunpowder & Sky. No release date is set.
