Cox and Root rebuild England after rain-hit start on day two at Headingley

Rain delayed the start of day two in the first Test between England and Pakistan at Headingley. Two quick wickets left England wobbling before Jordan Cox, reaching his maiden Test fifty in the 37th over, and Joe Root, also past fifty, steadied the innings. The five-day match runs 19–23 August 2026.
