Oscar-Winning Sound Designer Richard L. Anderson to Direct Feature Debut 'Wekiwa'

Richard L. Anderson, who shared a Special Achievement Academy Award for sound on 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' and earned nominations for 'Poltergeist' and 'Daylight', writes and directs his first feature with 'Wekiwa', a 1983-set creature feature about a Florida island resort the Seminole have warned about for 300 years. Billy Zane, Kevin Chapman and C.S. Lee join lead Alex Trumble. Salomé Breziner and Scott Rosenfelt produce. Principal photography begins in early September in the Orlando area. Deadline reported the cast additions on 20 August 2026.
