Modern Warfare 4 beta introduces shader pre-loading to cut PC launch waits
Infinity Ward and Beenox have added shader pre-loading to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 PC beta, scheduled for the weekend. Shaders — small programs telling a GPU how to render visuals — now compile in the background after download. On Battle.net this starts by default; on Steam, a first-run "Compiling Shaders" step remains but should be faster.
