Sam Curran to undergo groin surgery, ruling him out for rest of season

England all-rounder Sam Curran, 28, will have groin surgery on Friday, ending his season with Surrey and England's September white-ball series against Sri Lanka. Curran, whose last Test came in 2021, had been under consideration for a recall against Pakistan. Selector Marcus North said he could have featured had fitness allowed. The groin issue also forced his withdrawal from this year's IPL.
