UK tackles three illegal waste dumps as BBC reveals 11 supersites nationwide
PM Andy Burnham ordered clearance of three illegal waste sites — 22,000 tonnes combined — in Bradford, Runnymede, and the Isle of Sheppey. A BBC probe found 11 "supersites" across England, each over 20,000 tonnes. The targeted sites address only a fraction of the problem, and the government hasn't said how many more fall within scope.
