Florin Şerban Wins Golden Leopard at Locarno79 for 'You Don't Belong Here'

Romanian director Florin Şerban won the Pardo d'Oro, the Locarno Film Festival's top prize, at its 79th edition for "You Don't Belong Here." The film also took the Junior Jury award and the Europa Cinemas Label, with Teodor Butănescu earning a special mention. It examines institutionalised racism against Romania's Roma community through a doctor whose teenage son becomes a murder suspect (Variety, 20 August 2026).
