Busan festival to screen six-film Ahn Sung-ki retrospective the actor chose himself before his death

The 31st Busan International Film Festival will run a six-film retrospective, "Those Beautiful Years, Ahn Sung-ki," that the actor hand-picked before his death earlier this year. The lineup centres on his 1980s–1990s peak, from "A Fine, Windy Day" (1980) to "Festival" (1996). Each screening pairs longtime collaborators as guests. BIFF and the Korean Film Archive will co-publish an essay collection. The festival runs October 6–15 (Variety, 20 August 2026).
