From ATP No. 540 to No. 11 in 12 months: Rafael Jódar's rise

Rafael Jódar, 19, sits at ATP No. 11 — up from No. 540 in August 2025. He left the University of Virginia for the pro tour in May 2025 and began 2026 ranked No. 165. In four months he won his first ATP title (Marrakech), reached finals in Washington, made the Roland Garros quarter-finals, and a Masters 1000 semi-final in Montreal. He is seventh in the ATP race. On 19 August, seventh seed Flavio Cobolli beat him 4-6, 7-6(3), 6-3 in the Cincinnati fourth round.
