L.A. County Report: Paramount–Warner Merger Would Cut 4,500 Production Jobs

A Los Angeles County report prepared by CVL Economics and issued 19 August 2026 estimates a Paramount Skydance–Warner Bros. Discovery merger would eliminate about 4,500 film and TV production jobs in L.A. over three years. Ripple effects bring total losses to 10,360 job-years, including 2,661 indirect jobs at small businesses that service productions. L.A. has already lost 52,000 production jobs in four years.
