Ollie Robinson, back in England's Test side after a two-year exile, struck with the first ball of the series and took five for 51 at Headingley on 19 August 2026. Josh Tongue matched him with five for 46. Pakistan, without injured captain Babar Azam, were bowled out for 171. Joe Root, resuming the captaincy, had recalled the seamer he picked in 10 of his 22 Tests.
