Xbox update adds individual save-file deletion, ending all-or-nothing storage wipe

Xbox's console update rolling out to Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha Insiders on August 19, 2026 adds a "Manage local game saves" section under Settings > System > Storage. Players can now view, sort, and delete individual local saves by size — previously only bulk deletion was possible. Cloud backups and cross-device sync continue unaffected.
