Telemundo station chief José Alberto Suárez dies in Kenya helicopter crash at 55

José Alberto Suárez, president and general manager of Telemundo's stations in Orlando, Tampa and Fort Myers-Naples, Florida, has died in a helicopter crash in Samburu County, Kenya, aged 55. All seven aboard were killed, including four Americans confirmed by a U.S. State Department spokesperson. Suárez spent 20 years with NBCUniversal. Telemundo announced the death on 19 August 2026. No successor is named.
