Warner Bros. negotiates 'Theo of Golden' rights; Tom Hanks in talks to star and produce

Warner Bros. is in negotiations for feature film rights to Allen Levi's novel 'Theo of Golden', per Deadline (19 August 2026). Tom Hanks is in talks to play the title character and produce with Playtone partner Gary Goetzman and Gil Netter; Levi executive-produces. No director, screenwriter, or start date is set. The self-published debut has sold over 3.5 million US copies.
