Hollywood prepares autumn lobbying push for federal film production tax credit

Industry leaders are preparing a lobbying push in Congress in autumn 2026 for a federal film production tax credit that would layer on top of state incentives, Variety reports. The Motion Picture Assn. is meeting the House Ways and Means Committee and drafting a report on economic returns. More than 50,000 LA-area film and TV jobs have vanished since 2022.
