Judd's Artillery Sheds at the Chinati Foundation to get first gutters and invisible air filtration in restoration beginning late 2026

Schaum Architects, based in Houston, will restore Donald Judd's two Artillery Sheds at the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, Texas, from late 2026. The 1930s military sheds house Judd's 100 milled-aluminium works. Plans include the buildings' first gutters, solar-powered air filtration designed to be unseen and unheard, and re-treated glass — interventions founder Troy Schaum calls "editing around the edges."
