A Kickstarter campaign for "MST3K: The RiffTrax Experiments" sought $20,000 and raised $2.7 million within a month, according to Billboard. The funds back four new theatrical episodes merging the Mystery Science Theater 3000 brand with the RiffTrax team — Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett. The first, "Sting of Death," reaches cinemas on 9 and 13 September via Fathom Entertainment, with backers receiving it in October.
