Netflix acquires Sundance documentary 'The Disciple: A Wu-Tang Fable,' sets 16 October global release

Netflix has acquired the Sundance-premiered documentary "The Disciple: A Wu-Tang Fable" and set a global release for 16 October 2026, per Variety. Oscar winner Joanna Natasegara makes her feature directorial debut; the RZA executive-produces. The film charts the making of the single-copy Wu-Tang Clan album "Once Upon a Time in Shaolin," sold to Martin Shkreli for $2 million in 2015.
