UK Energy Bills Forecast to Hit Three-Year High by October 2026

Cornwall Insight forecasts the UK energy price cap — the ceiling suppliers can charge a typical household — at £1,729 yearly from October 2026, up roughly £66 (4%) to the highest since July 2023. Wholesale gas prices near four-year highs, driven by Middle East war disruption and European heatwaves straining grid demand, are pushing bills up. Another rise is expected January 2027.
