
Welsh government cannot block WRU's plan to cut a pro region by 2028
Wales' sports minister Heledd Fychan says the Welsh government cannot block the WRU's plan to cut one of four professional regions by 2028, because the WRU is a private company. Speaking on the BBC Wales podcast Walescast, Fychan said the government's focus is protecting community rugby. She raised fan concerns that Scarlets and Ospreys supporters feel ignored.
