Sony's revised DualSense Edge may add a swappable battery to meet EU repair rules
FCC filings reveal a revised DualSense Edge (model CFI-ZCP2), the first update to Sony's US$200 pro controller since early 2023. Eurogamer reports the revision is expected to allow user-replaceable battery access, aligning with the EU Right to Repair directive taking effect in 2027. Some FCC documents are locked until end of January 2027. Sony has not confirmed the controller.
