Kyrgios provisionally suspended after positive cocaine test

Nick Kyrgios has been provisionally suspended from tennis after testing positive for cocaine. The 31-year-old Australian, a 2022 Wimbledon finalist, provided the sample at an ATP 250 event in Mallorca on 22 June 2026. A Wada-accredited lab confirmed benzoylecgonine, a cocaine metabolite, on 17 July. He has been barred from competing since 4 August. Kyrgios announced the test on Instagram, citing injury toll on his physical and mental health, and said he had "no excuses."
