Veteran animator Greg Manwaring joins hybrid-AI animated musical 'Alishan Escape'

Animator Greg Manwaring, whose 35-year credits include The Lion King, The Iron Giant, Pocahontas and Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, has joined Alishan Escape: A Mandopop Ghost Adventure, per Variety (19 August 2026). The feature, from Red Empire Productions and Organic Media Group, uses a hybrid-AI production approach blending hand-drawn tradition with AI. No release date or budget has been announced.
