Royal estates face £10m energy upgrade bill as 90% of rental properties fall below new C standard
A Guardian investigation found nearly 90 per cent of rental properties across the Sandringham Estate and the Duchies of Lancaster and Cornwall fall below the EPC C rating that all private landlords in England must meet by 2030. The estimated upgrade cost is £10,000 per property, totalling roughly £10 million. Non-compliance carries fines of up to £30,000 per property.
