Netflix's The Diplomat returns for Season 4 on 15 October. Creator Debora Cahn told Deadline a third-season dinner-party scene — President Grace Penn, bleeding unknowingly, serves oysters to guests — became "a real spine" for the new episodes. The scene appears in episode six, "Amagansett," and drew on 425 local oysters. The series holds seven Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama.
