C+C Music Factory co-founder sues rapper Freedom Williams for $30 million over trademark
Robert Clivillés, who co-founded C+C Music Factory with the late David Cole in 1990, filed a $30 million federal lawsuit on August 14 against rapper Freedom Williams and label Big Mac Entertainment. Filed pro se, the suit claims Williams fraudulently registered the C+C trademark in 2005. Williams's attorney says the suit has no merit. Billboard obtained the complaint.
