Rijksmuseum to show 17th-century Van Uylenburgh sketchbook unseen by public for 91 years

The Van Eeghen Drawing Book, containing 30 biblical scenes attributed to Rombout van Uylenburgh — a cousin-by-marriage of Rembrandt — goes on view at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam on 19 August 2026. The Van Eeghen family, which owned the book since the 1700s, donated it in memory of C.P. van Eeghen, who traced the attribution first published in 2013 by Erik Löffler. It last hung before the public 91 years ago.
