Rider Finlay Tarling, 19, dies in Volta a Portugal collision as Tour of Britain Women prepares to start

Welsh rider Finlay Tarling, 19, died after colliding with a non-race vehicle during the eighth stage of the Volta a Portugal. Police investigations into the circumstances were continuing. The death overshadowed the Tour of Britain Women, Britain's only WorldTour race, which starts its five-day, 19-team edition in Cockermouth, Cumbria on 19 August.
