Bearing North launches as grant fund for independent films about North Korea

Entrepreneurs Blaine Vess and Esther Paik Vess have launched Bearing North, a Los Angeles-based grant fund dedicated to independent films about North Korea. Grants cover documentary, narrative, and short films at any production stage, with a preference for defector-led projects. Applications are open at bearingnorth.com/grants. The first supported project is Jeremy Workman's documentary "School for Defectors."
