French Producer Nicolas Altmayer, 61, Dies in Head-On Collision in Western France

Nicolas Altmayer, producer of the OSS 117 films and a long string of François Ozon features including By the Grace of God, died at 61 on 17 August 2026 in a head-on collision in Airvault, Deux-Sèvres, Variety reported. His wife, Dior PR director Mathilde Favier, 57, was also killed. Their car struck a lorry while overtaking. An involuntary manslaughter investigation is open. Altmayer ran Mandarin & Compagnie with his brother Éric.
