Stars Collective's Mandarin 'Thelma' Remake Pits AI Voice-Cloning on Screen as Company Builds AI Studio Off It
Stars Collective has acquired Mandarin remake rights to Sundance 2024 breakout 'Thelma' (Variety, 18 Aug 2026). The adaptation, 'Grandma, Please,' swaps the phone scam for AI voice-cloning fraud. The company is simultaneously building a generative-AI studio linking Hollywood filmmakers with AI tools — the same technology driving its on-screen plot. Production targets second-half 2027.
