Shakira pledges $1.25 million to rebuild schools in earthquake-hit Chocó

Shakira committed an initial $1.25 million to rebuild schools damaged by the August 2025 earthquake in Chocó, Colombia. The pledge — $500,000 from Shakira and Live Nation, $500,000 from the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, and $250,000 from CAF — is channelled through her Fundación Pies Descalzos. A 7.4-magnitude quake on August 10 damaged nearly 200 schools.
