Chris Carter's director's cut of *The X-Files: I Want to Believe*, subtitled 'Vrach Frankenshteyn', debuted on Hulu and Disney+ on 14 August 2026. The R-rated version restores Carter's darker horror vision after 2008 studio pressure forced cuts for a PG-13 release. 20th Century Studios' Steve Asbell helped the project reach streaming 18 years after the original's theatrical run.
