Both leads of Disney's Ice Princess now dead before 40 within 18 months

Hayden Panettiere died on 16 August 2026, age 36, in Greenville, South Carolina, per Variety. Her Ice Princess co-star Michelle Trachtenberg died in February 2025, age 39, from diabetes complications, the New York medical examiner ruled, per CNN. Both leads of the 2005 Disney film gone before 40 within 18 months. Kim Cattrall, also in the cast, wrote on Instagram: "Rest in peace sweet Hayden. Gone far too soon." An autopsy found no trauma, The Hollywood Reporter reported; the coroner has not released a cause.
