Ramesses II lintel found in Egypt strengthens case for lost city of Msen

A sandstone lintel inscribed with the titles of King Ramesses II was found at Tell Abu Saifi in northern Egypt, Heritage Daily reported on 16 August 2026. The lintel, broken in two, carries texts on three sides. The find strengthens evidence for Msen, a lost Pharaonic city hypothesised from texts but never conclusively located.
