At an August 17, 2026 White House briefing meant to honour teenage lifeguard Ryder Williams, Trump told CNN correspondent Kristen Holmes "Quiet," then "Be quiet! Be quiet! Be quiet!" and called her "a fake reporter." She had asked whether he had spoken with North Korea's Kim Jong-un and whether Kim sought cuts to U.S.-South Korea military exercises. CNN defended Holmes in a statement.
